Braces

Before

After

On July 20 A got braces. She likes her new look, but hates the pain: luckily ibuprofen works. She picked pale blue bands to match her dress she is wearing to cousin Rachel's wedding (photos of her in the dress to come).

When they were putting on the braces, they used a mouth expander thing to hold back her lips and cheeks and a micro vacuum tube to suck up saliva. For the bottom teeth, A asked them to not use the vacuum tube, as she really disliked it. Yucky Taste!! That night, it took 30 minutes just to floss her teeth! I think she has brushed her teeth 8 times this morning.

Okay so I left a comment on the blog about this nearly a week ago. It certainly doesn't appear to have saved.

Well here goes attempt #2. Congrats on the braces. I remember having braces and worrying about all the silly food that would get stuck in it. I also think maybe you should do green bands because then people always think you have spinach or salad in your teeth.

Flossing is a pian... can't wait to see you in a week.

You are looking good! I wish they had used braces when I was your age so that I didn't have to go through life with crooked teeth. Lucky you to live in a more modern time. And keep smiling because you have a very beautiful smile!!
