Dutahlon
Renee decided to compete in an Olympic Duathlon, with her friend Gazelle who did the triathlon. The Olympic Duathlon has the same bike (20K) and run (10K) as the tri, but without the swim. Friday night they drove down to Sutherlin, had dinner with the athletes at the Pasta Feed, drove the course and checked out the lake, and stayed at a nearby Inn.
Saturday morning they got up at 5 (they didn't really sleep anyway), took their bikes to the lake, their shoes to the highschool, a bus back to the lake and froze as they waited for the race to begin. As the first swimmer was coming out of the water, the duathletes took off. At the transition (done with biking, put on the shoes), there were only two duathletes ahead of Renee. She passed one on the run, and the other took a wrong turn on the run, so Renee Won!
Official times:
Renee: 2:08:17
Brannick Adams: 2:11:09
Alex Schmidt: 2:33:10
Adam Davis: 2:25;27
Yep, she beat all the men. When I find a photo I'll post it. The competitive edge was driving the course the night before!

I tried and tried to think of a clever comment, but to no avail. So I will resort to quoting Crush from "Finding Nemo:" "You so totally rock, [Red Wasp]!"
